Why Your Dog Needs This Spritz
Dogs get dirty. They roll in things. They develop that distinctive "dog smell" that seems to appear out of nowhere. But bathing too frequently strips natural oils and can irritate sensitive skin. DERMagic Grooming Spritz solves this problem by freshening and conditioning the coat without the need for a full bath.

Spearmint essential oil adds a cool, invigorating scent. These weightless botanicals detangle and condition without leaving any heavy residue or build-up.
How to Use
For daily freshening, simply spray onto your dog's coat and brush through. For muddy paws, spray generously and brush dry, combing out dirt and debris as needed. Use as often as needed to keep your pet fresh—daily for active outdoor dogs, or whenever that "dog smell" appears.

How to Use Dermagic — The Complete Guide to the Dermagic Four-Step Skin Care System
If your dog is suffering from itchy skin, hot spots, hair loss, yeast overgrowth, alopecia X, black skin disease, or any other persistent skin condition, this page will show you exactly how to use the Dermagic natural organic skin care system to get the best possible results. The Dermagic four-step protocol has been transforming the skin health of dogs across the world since 2006, and when followed correctly and consistently, the results can be remarkable.
This guide covers every step of the Dermagic system in detail, including how often to use each product, how to apply them correctly, and what to expect as your dog's skin begins to heal. Read through the full protocol before you begin so you understand the process and can set realistic expectations for your dog's recovery.
The Dermagic Skin Care System is a simple four-step process designed to relieve itching, eliminate yeast conditions, and regrow fur. This proven protocol effectively treats the following conditions in dogs: alopecia X, acute moist dermatitis (hot spots), atopic dermatitis, black skin disease, cuts and sores, fur and hair loss, mange, severe dog itching, seborrhea, secondary skin conditions resulting from flea allergies, mite allergies or trauma, skin allergies, and more.
Step One — Clean the Skin
Product: Peppermint and Tea Tree Oil Shampoo or any of the Dermagic solid Shampoo Bars
Frequency: One to two times per month
Use for: General cleaning, conditioning skin and fur, and initial treatment prior to lotion application
Carefully trim the hair around affected areas with clippers or scissors, keeping fur between a quarter inch and half an inch long. Give your dog a relaxing bath with the sulfate-free shampoo. Wet your dog thoroughly and lather up, then rinse immediately. Never leave your dog standing with suds on them.
Step Two — Condition the Coat
Product: Peppermint and Tea Tree Oil Conditioner or the Dermagic Conditioner Bar
Frequency: After every shampooing
Use for: Protecting fur against dirt and grime, conditioning skin and fur, and preparing the skin for lotion treatment
After shampooing, apply the conditioner to your dog's coat and massage thoroughly into coat and skin, then rinse immediately. Choose from any of the natural Dermagic conditioners including Peppermint and Tea Tree Oil, Rosemary Mint, or Lemongrass Spearmint.
Step Three — Treat the Yeast
Product: Skin Rescue Lotion
Use for: Resolving general itchiness, hot spots, seborrhea, and even severe cases of black skin disease, alopecia X, or significant hair loss
During the first week, massage the Skin Rescue Lotion into affected areas twice daily. After week one, continue applying once per day until healthy pink skin begins to appear.
Pro tips: Keep the treated area covered with an old t-shirt or baby onesie to help keep the lotion on the skin and reduce licking. If your pet licks the lotion off, simply reapply as needed. There is nothing harmful or toxic in this product.
Step Four — Support Healthy Skin and Coat
Product: Cell Restoration Creme
Frequency: Once per day once your pet's skin is pink and healthy
Use for: Speeding cell regeneration, boosting cellular immunity to prevent reinfection, combating dry flaky skin, and encouraging healthy coat growth
Massage the Cell Restoration Creme into healthy pink skin once daily and continue until full coat restoration is achieved.
Bonus Treatment — Dermagic Anti-Dandruff Dead Sea Salt Scrub
Enhance your pet's healing journey with the therapeutic Dead Sea Salt Scrub. This powerful treatment can be used alongside the four-step system for even better results.
The salt scrub harnesses the therapeutic power of natural Dead Sea salts and minerals to pamper and detoxify your pet's skin. The invigorating blend removes dead skin cells, draws toxins from the skin, relieves itching, and leaves your pet's skin and coat fresh and exfoliated. Formulated with organic whole-leaf aloe vera, vitamin E, and pure rosemary essential oil.
There are three ways to use the salt scrub. The first is direct massage — starting from the rear of the dog and moving along the spine toward the head, massage the healing salts into your dog's wet coat. As the salts dissolve in the wet fur, add more, working your way up to the shoulders and neck. The second method is a paw soak — add a quarter cup of salt scrub to a tub of warm water, enough to cover your pet's paws to the pastern, and keep your dog entertained for five to ten minutes while they stand in the water. This is perfect for paw irritations and localised treatment. The third method is a full bath soak — add one cup of salts to a warm water bath and let your pet soak as the healing salts ease pain and decrease inflammation.
Frequently Asked Questions — How to Use Dermagic
How long does Dermagic take to work?
Most dog owners begin to see early signs of improvement within the first two to four weeks of consistent use. Conditions like hot spots can respond faster, sometimes within days. More complex conditions like alopecia X and black skin disease are longer term and results typically become clearly visible after six to eight weeks of following the full four-step protocol consistently. The key is not to stop too early.
How often should I use the Dermagic shampoo?
The Dermagic shampoo should be used one to two times per month. It is not a daily shampoo. Over-bathing can strip the natural oils from your dog's skin and work against the treatment. The Skin Rescue Lotion is the daily treatment product, not the shampoo.
What order do I use the Dermagic products in?
The correct order is shampoo first, then conditioner, then Skin Rescue Lotion applied to the affected areas, and finally Cell Restoration Creme once the skin has begun to recover and healthy pink skin is visible. Follow the four steps in order for the best results.
How do I know the Dermagic is working?
The first sign that Dermagic is working is usually a reduction in scratching and irritation. As treatment progresses you will begin to see healthy pink skin appearing where the condition was present. This is a very positive sign and means the skin is regenerating. Hair regrowth follows once the skin is healthy.
What if my dog licks the Skin Rescue Lotion off?
This is very common and nothing to worry about. The Skin Rescue Lotion contains no harmful or toxic ingredients and is completely safe if ingested by your dog. Simply reapply the lotion after they have licked it off. Using an old t-shirt or baby onesie over the treated area can help keep the lotion in place.
Can I use Dermagic on a puppy?
The Dermagic range is made from certified organic natural ingredients and is gentle enough for use on dogs of all ages. If your puppy has a skin condition, the products are safe to use. If in doubt please contact us before starting treatment.
Can I use Dermagic on cats?
Not all Dermagic products are safe for cats. The Skin Rescue Lotion and the Feline Shampoo Bar are the two products in the range that have been formulated for safe use on cats. Please do not use other products in the range on cats without contacting us first.
How do I apply the Skin Rescue Lotion correctly?
Apply the Skin Rescue Lotion directly to the affected area and massage gently into the skin. During the first week apply twice daily. After week one reduce to once daily. Make sure the lotion reaches the skin and is not just sitting on top of the coat. Trimming the fur short around affected areas before treatment helps significantly.
Is the Dermagic system safe for long-term use?
Yes. Because Dermagic is formulated entirely from certified organic natural ingredients with no steroids, parabens, sulphates, or synthetic chemicals, it is completely safe for long-term daily use. Many dog owners keep their pets on a maintenance protocol indefinitely to prevent conditions from returning.
